The EU has not received a response from Serbia regarding the attack in Ibër-Lepenc.

The European Union has confirmed that it has not yet received any response from the Serbian authorities regarding Kosovo's request for cooperation in the investigation of the terrorist attack that occurred on November 29, 2024 on the Ibër-Lepenc water canal.

The EU has said that it has transmitted to the Serbian authorities the request of the Kosovo Special Prosecution Office to cooperate in the investigation of this attack, but so far I have not received a response.

"The EU is closely following developments and stands ready to facilitate cooperation between both parties. The European Union Special Representative for Kosovo in January mediated the transmission of a request for mutual legal assistance from the Kosovo Special Prosecution Office to the Serbian authorities, regarding the attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal. No response has been received on this matter to date," the EU spokesperson said in a response.

Earlier, the Special Prosecution Office said that Serbia is not showing any willingness to cooperate, despite Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić's public pledges that he would assist the investigations and cooperate with the Kosovo Police.

Officials in Kosovo see this approach by Serbia as a disregard for international commitments and a lack of seriousness in addressing the act that could potentially have caused serious security consequences.

The US National Bureau of Investigation, FBI, has also been involved in the investigation into the attack of November 29, 2024. So far, two suspects are being held in custody, while in addition to Dragisa and Jovan Viqentijevic, the Prosecutor's Office has said that there are other suspects.
