EU “seriously concerned” about the non-approval of the Serbian List results

The European Union has expressed “serious concern” over the non-confirmation of the results of the Serbian List in the recent elections in Kosovo and has called for the depoliticization of the work of the Central Election Commission. This was stated by an EU spokesperson, commenting on the non-confirmation of the List with the names of the deputies elected by this political entity.

“The EU expresses serious concern about the failure of the Central Election Commission to approve the final result for the Serbian List in the recent parliamentary elections,” the EU statement said. “The EU reiterates its call for the depoliticization of the work of the CEC, in line with the report of the Election Observation Mission, and calls on all parties to work together, in accordance with the Constitution.”

Furthermore, the EU spokesperson reiterates the call for the future Kosovo legislature to accelerate EU-related reforms and ratify the Growth Plan.

"It is important that all elected members of parliament take their seats in the new Kosovo Assembly. The EU recalls that the next Kosovo legislature must accelerate EU-related reforms and ratify the agreements from the pending Growth Plan, for the benefit of the people of Kosovo," the EU spokesperson said.
