The European Union in Kosovo has condemned the incident of Monday night, where a Serb was injured near the Bistrica bridge.
Four police officials have been arrested in connection with the case. One of them is accused of "attempted murder", while all four are also accused of not reporting the case.
"The EU in Kosovo condemns the security incident where a Kosovo Serb was shot and injured near a checkpoint of the Kosovo Police on the Bistrica bridge in Zveçan. All relevant law enforcement institutions must now conduct a quick and complete investigation and bring those responsible to justice," the EU in Kosovo wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, the EU's post was shared by the German ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde.
He called the incident disturbing, while he welcomed the quick response of the Kosovo Police.
"I completely agree. Another disturbing security incident. It is good to see that the Kosovo Police reacted by investigating the case more thoroughly. Possible violations by the Police should be examined like any other violation. I wish the victim a speedy recovery," wrote Rohde .
