"The World Bank refutes their propaganda: Kosovo is the first country in the world in terms of population shrinkage. More people are fleeing Kosovo than from war zones. Who are citizens fleeing from? From economic prosperity?" Bajrami wrote on Facebook.
The acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, immediately responded to the status of Bajram, saying that the LDK MP is manipulating the data. He explained that the decrease in the population from 1.76 million (according to the Statistical Agency's estimate for 2023) to 1.6 million (according to the 2024 Census) does not mean the departure of 160 thousand people within a year, but a statistical correction.
"KAS has only made estimates from 2011 to 2023, which have not accurately reflected the population outflow in previous years, especially during the great exodus of 2014-2015, when Bajram's LDK went into coalition with PDK and the Serbian List, as they are more or less trying to do." today," Murat wrote.
He added that Bajrami's statements show either deliberate manipulation or a lack of knowledge about statistics, which according to him should also raise concerns about the quality of education where she teaches.
