The deputy of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Mefail Bajqinovci, has cast doubt on the statements made a few days ago that deputies of the Democratic League of Kosovo, led by its chairman, were threatened with murder. In an article on Facebook, Bajqinovci said that the silence that followed the reports "crystallizes the suspicion of a low political game".
"The LDK did not tell us anything about the 'assassination'! Kosovo needs a healthy democratic environment, where parties confront their ideas, teams and political leaders, trying to offer citizens the best possible political representation. A week ago, LDK brought to the public a news about the assassination of the mayor and other officials there, which undoubtedly receives attention due to the sensitivity of the nature of these developments", Bajqinovci wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
He said that the LDK did not provide transparency on the case. He raised doubts that the event was used for "self-victimization as a political tool".
"The perception may also be related to political projections for higher quotas in the political market through the Balkan political school of 'self-victimization', but to be correct with the facts, we asked the police and the LDK itself to inform the public with new developments around this topic. They did not offer transparency. They are not offering it even now, thus crystallizing the suspicion of a low political game, but also proof of the need to use "self-victimization" as a political tool to compensate for the fragility of the leadership that has progressively appeared in recent months. Speak up dear. We are waiting for you. We want to hear what you have to say about it. Do you want me to go to Albin Kurti's house?" he wrote further.
On January 19, the deputies of the LDK, as well as some of the PDK, stated that there were plans for assassinations against them and that they were notified of such a thing by the security institutions in the country. However, they have stated that they do not have detailed information and that the law enforcement agencies are dealing with the case.
The Police described the case as "intimidation".
KOHA has sent questions to the Democratic League of Kosovo to get an answer to Bajqinovci's accusations. Questions have also been sent to the Police. As soon as there is an official response from the parties, the article will be updated.
