"Not a cent more", Doli proposes massive boycott of electricity payments

Auron Doli from the "Not a Cent More" group, which opposes the increase in the price of electricity, has stated that the current price of electricity is high, while calling for it to be reduced, not increased, as has been warned.

He said on Monday on "Interaktiv" that a complete boycott of citizens regarding the payment of electricity should be seen as an option, as a form of protest against the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO).

"As citizens, we will do our utmost to prevent this from happening (the increase in electricity prices this year). The actions will multiply, they will become more radical day by day. We will protest, but I also think that there should be more creative and alternative ways of approaching it. For example, the boycott of electricity payments would work if there was a large organization of citizens," Doli declared.

According to him, citizens cannot offer solutions, but institutions must provide them so that electricity does not become more expensive, while adding that the increase in prices will also affect basic products.

"Within five years, we have had impoverishment of citizens. The increase in the cost of electricity has caused a chain effect on the increase in the prices of basic products. With a salary of 500 euros, in 2021 he paid 30 percent of his salary for food. In 2023, 60 percent. Today he spends 300 euros on food. In the end, this needs to be seen... Oil has gone from 1.55 euros to 2.67 euros. There is a chain increase in food prices due to the increase in electricity," he said.
