Kosovar wanted by INTERPOL arrested

Kosovo Police have announced that they have arrested a Kosovar citizen who was wanted on an international arrest warrant issued by Albania. The suspect was wanted by INTERPOL for drug trafficking.

His arrest was carried out in coordination with the police station in Malisheva.

"The Directorate for International Police Cooperation, in cooperation and coordination with the Malisheva Police Station, have arrested a suspected Kosovar citizen. The suspect, through INTERPOL, was wanted with an international arrest warrant issued by the Republic of Albania, for drug trafficking committed in a special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group, introducing or keeping prohibited items in the institution of execution of criminal decisions, and committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group, which are sanctioned under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Albania," the Kosovo Police statement states.

The suspect was sent to police custody for 48 hours, to then continue with further legal procedures.
