Nagip Krasniqi's hearing canceled due to advancement of the presiding judge

The court hearing against the former CEO of the Kosovo Energy Corporation, Nagip Krasniqi, who is being accused of abuse of official position or authority, which was scheduled for today at 09:30, has been canceled.

The cancellation of this session was confirmed by the information officer at the Basic Court of Pristina, Mirlinda Gashi, who said that the reason for the cancellation is the promotion of the presiding judge, Arben Hoti, to the Court of Appeals.

According to her, a new judge will soon be appointed for this court case.

"The court has canceled the hearing scheduled for 12.01.2026 in the criminal case against the defendant NK, due to the promotion of the presiding judge - Judge Arben Hoti to the Court of Appeals of Kosovo. In the indictment filed in August 2024, the Special Prosecution alleges that Krasniqi enabled the Slovenian company "Holding Slovenske Elektrane" to trade energy without a license in Kosovo, causing damage of around 3.2 million euros.

According to the indictment, during 2022-23, Krasniqi knowingly approved the purchase and signed contracts with the Slovenian company, even though he was aware that energy trading could not be done with companies unlicensed by the Energy Regulatory Office.
