Most court hearings are cancelled

Most of the sessions at the Basic Court in Pristina have been cancelled.

From this Court they have confirmed that on Thursday the Judicial Council of Kosovo (KJC) has listed the eight essential services that will be performed. This decision, according to the Foundation's announcement, will be implemented from November 24 to December 8, 2022.

According to the announcement, the services that will be offered are: Proceeding and holding hearings related to the measures for the safety of the defendants in the procedure, hearings for custody cases and cases related to defendants with mental disorders, handling requests for sequestration and temporary measures, execution of criminal decisions, issues of domestic violence, issues of securing claims, enforcement of decisions in cases of child surrender, establishing contact and alimony, as well as other cases in any procedure where the interest is in question Of the child, procedures for sending persons to rehabilitation as well as all administrative services.

Among the hearings that were canceled on Thursday, there is the one for the 53-million, where former minister Pal Lekaj is also accused, as well as the one for the "Stenta 2" case.

Last night, the Judicial Council of Kosovo warned that after the Government's decision to reduce salaries in the justice system, sessions of an urgent or essential nature will be held.
