Andoni on Clark's testimony: Thaçi will take on more political than military attributes

Historian Ben Andoni has commented on the appearance of NATO general Wesley Clark during the Kosovo war, who testified on Monday in The Hague as a defense witness in the case against Thaçi and others.

On the "Interaktiv" show on KTV, Andoni said that former President Hashim Thaçi will take on more political and diplomatic attributes than military ones.

"I believe that Thaçi will be increasingly liberated and will take on more political and diplomatic attributes than combat attributes. Thaçi, wherever he has been, used combat attributes more in the community, he used to say 'we'. While the diplomatic part is his personal part with which he tried to unite other people from the KLA. I think it is understandable that they have great knowledge, but they made mistakes in some cases in Kosovo because they should have finished work faster in Kosovo and protected the pedestrians as much as possible so that they would not be allowed into the field and what happened happened," Andoni declared.

Furthermore, historian Andoni said that the defense witnesses are well thought out and have a connecting thread from James Rubin onwards, in order to prove that the KLA was a force that only defended itself against the Serbs.

"I believe that their testimonies are very well thought out. They have a connecting thread from Rubin and others, that the KLA was a force that defended itself locally against the Serbs and was able to do as much as possible to harm the Serbian army," Andoni further stated.

NATO general during the Kosovo war, Wesley Clark, has begun his testimony at the Specialist Chambers. Responding to questions from Hashim Thaçi's defense, Clark said that the KLA was made up of local self-organized groups.

In his testimony in the case where Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity, Clark emphasized that the KLA in 1998 consisted of local armed groups of Albanians, whose creation was prompted by increasing Serbian repression.

Clark is the defense's final witness.
