The Italian ambassador ends his mission in Kosovo

The ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, Nicola Orlando, has announced that his mission in Kosovo will end at the end of June, after only one and a half years in this position.

Ambassador Orlando announced through a statement that he was appointed as a special envoy for Libya, adding that Kosovo has a place in the EU.

"This comes suddenly, but my mission in Kosovo will end at the end of June, after only one and a half years. I am humbled and grateful for the confidence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who has appointed me his Special Envoy for Libya. At the same time, I am sad to leave Kosovo so soon. I was just getting to know this beautiful and attractive country. I am deeply grateful to my colleagues at the Embassy, ​​my international partners and especially the people of Kosovo who supported me from the first moment and made me feel at home. Kosovo's road to justice, prosperity and internal and external harmony is sometimes bumpy, but always clear. It leads to Europe, where Kosovo belongs together with the other countries of the Western Balkans. I am grateful to have had the privilege of witnessing, albeit briefly, Italy's steadfast commitment to this goal. Ambassadors come and go, but the long and sincere friendship between our two countries and peoples will always remain. Thank you!” Orlando's statement read.
