The head of the DUI, Ali Ahmeti, sent a message to the Albanians of North Macedonia through a video link, asking them to support his request for the election of the first Albanian prime minister in North Macedonia.
"Now is the time. It's time to come together, time to act together again. This is a call to all Albanian parties and all Albanian citizens and others, to support our cause, which is bigger than all of us", he says, and after mentioning the achievements of Albanians in this country, he exclaims: "It's time for the first Albanian prime minister in North Macedonia!"
Below is the full text of Ali Ahmet's appeal to Albanians in North Macedonia.
"Sisters and brothers!
Everything has a beginning. Everything starts with a dream. All of us have our dreams, for our children, for ourselves, for the country.

We Albanians have dreamed of freedom, equality and we fought to make this dream come true.
Because when we believe in something, we are willing to sacrifice everything.
As Albanians, we have always known how to unite for common goals, when it has been important and decisive, during war, during crisis and during our relentless efforts for equality and integration.
This is why we, together, have achieved a lot in our history as Albanians in North Macedonia. The Ohrid Agreement is being implemented. The Albanian language already enjoys an equal and formal status, as does our national flag.
The Prespa Agreement was signed and the constitution was amended.
We are full members of NATO and are negotiating for membership in the European Union.
Today, more than ever, Albanians lead leadership positions such as judges of the supreme and constitutional courts, the ministries of defense and internal affairs, as well as key state institutions, including the speaker of the parliament.
However, this is not enough. Now is the time to continue the dream. For bigger dreams, because it's time to achieve even more.
North Macedonia is our country. The country we fought for.
We have an equal share in the history, heritage, economy and future of our country.
Now is the time for full equality, for taking responsibility to tend!
It's time for the first Albanian prime minister in North Macedonia!
Some may call this idea unfeasible. Some may even mock our belief in the realization of the dream of many Albanians.
This, however, is something good. When someone denies your dream, it makes you work even harder to make it come true.
When we dreamed of freedom in 2001, the same category of people also mocked and raised the white flag. And if only a few years ago we would have told them that the day would come when the Speaker of the Parliament of North Macedonia would be an Albanian, many of them would not have believed it, just as they do not believe it today.
Of course, many people would also not have believed that the Albanian language would be an official language in North Macedonia or that the flag would fly freely and that we would have three universities in the Albanian language. But we, those of us who dared to aim for the realization of our dreams, knew that we could do it. We achieved this together. As we will do now.
Together, we will write history to make the future. Together we can show the world that our country can truly be a society where everyone can realize their dreams and feel equal. A country where an Albanian can become Prime Minister and be a worthy leader that guarantees permanent partnership with the United States of America and
also A triumph and 100 jobs waitingthe European Union.
This is what I want to enable our children and grandchildren:
The belief that we can achieve anything we dream of.
And for this, we must come together!
This idea is much bigger than any party or any person. This idea has nothing to do with DUI and certainly not me. I am here to continue the life of the process, to lead the concept, to become a bridge and pave the way by creating the circumstances for the realization of the dream, while it remains for you to implement it. I am sowing, that you may reap. I'm dreaming that you come true. I dare you to.
When we are together, we are very powerful.
This is a national Albanian cause. This is our national dream. The dream of complete equality, the dream of a society that turns words into deeds.
The first Albanian Prime Minister will be a Prime Minister for all.
A Prime Minister of equality: Equal jobs, equal pay. Equal rights and non-selective justice. For Albanians and for everyone. The first Albanian Prime Minister will
lead a new generation of politics, representing an equal society and leading North Macedonia to a prosperous future as a member country of NATO and the European Union.
A Prime Minister, who unifies and who will start a new era, not only in Albanian history, but also in the history of North Macedonia, and even in the history of Europe.
Now is the time. It's time to come together, time to act together again. This is a call to all Albanian parties and all Albanian citizens and others to support
our cause, which is bigger than all of us.
Now is the time to make history together. It's not just a dream; it's our chance. It is our chance to build a new society in which our children can achieve everything they dream of.
