Indictment against Klinaku and another person for threatening Kurti

The Kosovo Special Prosecution Office has announced that it has filed an indictment against two people for threatening acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti. 

According to the announcement of the Prosecution, the indictment against Faton Klinaku and NS for the criminal offense of "Intimidation" has been submitted to the Basic Court in Pristina. 

"According to the indictment, on 29.08.2023, the defendant FK, in order to intimidate and force the now injured official person AK, in his capacity as Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, to take or not take certain actions within the framework of the exercise of his official duty, threatened him through his personal profile on the social network 'Facebook', by posting articles with threatening content," the Prosecution announced. 

Klinaku, from the KLA's OVL, in a response to KOHA, said that he has not been notified by the justice authorities about the indictment. As he said, his lawyer has not been notified either.

Klinaku was interviewed because of a post in which, while responding to a concerned voter of the incumbent government, he wrote that he would rather kill the prime minister than flee Kosovo.

"So desperate was his voter that he said: I voted for change, and let alone change, there is no change, but we are going even further down as a country and there is nothing left but to leave. I told him: I neither voted for him, nor change for the better, which I did not expect from him, and as for leaving, I would rather kill Albin Kurti than let him go and leave Kosovo. PS Kosovo should not and should not be abandoned by those who fought for it," he wrote in 2023.

Following public reactions regarding the aforementioned threat, on 30.08.2023, the defendant FK is said to have repeated a post with the same threatening content towards the injured party, stating "... I'm repeating it again, if you find the previous post scandalous: I'd rather kill AK than let him go and leave Kosovo."

Meanwhile, the other defendant, NS, is said to have threatened to kill Kurti through public posts on the social network "Facebook", due to his function, as stated "referring to the threatening post made by the defendant FK".
