The President of the Kosovo Journalists Association, Xhemajl Rexha, said that after the decisions of the Independent Media Commission (IMC), it has been confirmed that this institution has been captured by the Vetëvendosje Movement.
During today's meeting, the IMC imposed fines on several media outlets regarding their reporting during the February 2025 elections.

Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support ContributeAccording to Rexha, the IMC met to make decisions on 26 cases mainly related to elections, while he described as "scandalous" the reasoning of this institution for punishing the media.
He announced that Klan Kosova has been fined 3 euros for, as stated by the chairman of the IMC, "mainly biased, unbalanced chronicles based only on a source of information related to the current government."
"The IMC aims to discipline the media and direct their editorial policies, which is an unacceptable blow to freedom of the media and expression in Kosovo," Rexha wrote on Facebook.
He also announced that RTK, Kanal10, Tëvë1, RTV Dukagjini and T7 have also been fined for alleged violations mainly related to the February 2025 elections and political advertising.
"In the case of T7, there was a total fine of 4 thousand euros, for a series of alleged violations, but the reasoning of Mayor Berisha is as scandalous as that for Klan Kosova. Among other things, he said (paraphrasing) that 'the shows spoke with a negative connotation, not distinguishing between opinion and fact. And, this is the best way to manipulate facts, by making propaganda'," Rexha wrote further.
According to him, this is "proof of the capture of this institution by Vetëvendosje".
