Nearly 12.000 active cases of COVID-19 in Kosovo

The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo has announced that during the last 24 hours, a total of 5.102 samples taken by the National Institute of Public Health and the contact tracing of cases in the field were tested, of which 828 positive cases resulted.

According to the institute, within 24 hours 8 deaths were reported with SARS CoV-2 positive.

"The cases of death are from the municipalities: Pristina 2 cases (64, 77 years old), Fushë-Kosovo 1 case (77 years old), Gjakovë 1 case (64 years old), Obiliq 1 case (84 years old), Rahovec 1 case (72 years old) ), Additions 1 case (68 years old), Year 1 case (69 years old). The total number of positive cases is 80.621 cases out of 375.967 people suspected of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and 1.744 cases of death. During the last 24 hours, 744 patients have been cured, while the total number of cured to date is 67.065 cases, while the number of active cases is 11.812. The positive cases are from the municipalities: Pristina 361 cases, Vushtrri 65 cases, Mitrovica 59 cases, Podujevë 41 cases, Pejë 37 cases, Gjilan 34 cases, Gjakovë 29 cases, Lipjan 29 cases, Ferizaj 27 cases, Obiliq 15 cases, Prizren 15 cases, Fushë-Kosovo 12 cases, Kamenica 12 cases, Shtime 11 cases, Klina 10 cases, Suharekë 10 cases, Drenas 9 cases, Decan 8 cases, Malishevo 8 cases, Skenderaj 7 cases, Viti 7 cases, Kaçanik 6 cases, Rahovec 6 cases, Dragash 3 cases, Istog 3 cases, Novobërdë 3 cases and Hani i Elezit 1 case", the announcement states.
