The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has stated that the names presented for president in the meeting with the leader of Vetëvendosje are in line with the "agreed principles".
"In the entirety of the names presented, I can say that all the names, some more and some less, are in line with the principles agreed upon so far and in this regard, let's say that this is a step forward," he emphasized after the meeting.
Abdixhiku added that meetings will continue to select the next president.
"I cannot discuss specific names at this stage, but we will meet again to finalize and select the next president of the Republic of Kosovo."
Abdixhiku said that the LDK is still in deep constitutional uncertainty regarding the constitution of the Assembly and that the only thing it can do now is to help with the issue of the president.
"LDK is an institutional guarantee. LDK neither constitutes the Assembly itself, nor calls the Assembly session, for LDK we are in deep constitutional uncertainty, the only thing it can do is to be reasonable for the election of the president. But if someone still believes that LDK is a wagon of some other party, times have changed a lot. LDK belongs to LDK, get used to such an LDK. And LDK in these discussions speaks with complete conviction about what it historically represents for 37 years."
