75 years since the fall of the hero Shaban Polluzha

On February 21, 1945, in the village of Tërstenik in Drenica, Shaban Polluzha, one of the most famous commanders of Kosovo during the Second World War, was killed.

Shaban Polluzha came from a family with average economic status. Shabani was not educated, but as a young man he was involved in political life, which was imposed on him by the circumstances and injustices of the occupying regimes.

He faced the Bulgarians and Austrians during the First World War and the regime of the former bourgeois Yugoslavia. During the Yugoslav kingdom, he was involved in political life, president and deputy. He often confronted the circles of the anti-popular regime and for a while he was forced to go underground in Albania.

During the Second World War he was the commander of a part of the front in Montenegro, Kollashin and Sanjak of the New Market. He was a member of the Council of Islihat (peacemaking court) and with the proposal of Miftar Bajraktar, he was appointed chairman of Islihat in Drenica. Shaban Polluzha also had political tactics.

With political strategy, he had made some formal and deceptive connection with the communist circles, but in reality he never accepted this ideology as an ideology that would solve the Albanian issue. For this, the parish and the organizational council of the Assembly of Skenderaj proposed him as the commander of the Drenica Brigade.
