The European Union plans to put the "status" of the Ibri Bridge in Mitrovica on the agenda of the next meeting in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue. A spokesperson for the European Union has told TIME that the EU considers the opening of the Ibri Bridge a matter of dialogue even though "the Government of Kosovo is acting in the opposite way".

"The opening of the bridge is a matter of dialogue even though the Government of Kosovo is acting in the opposite way. Together with our international partners, including NATO and KFOR, we oppose the action to change the current status of the bridge without coordination and prior agreement in dialogue. We have made our position very clear to our counterparts in Kosovo at many levels, in many ways and through many partners. The EU calls on all parties to refrain from any uncoordinated and unilateral actions. We do not discuss possible scenarios. The EU plans to put the status of the bridge on the agenda of the next dialogue meeting," said a written response from an EU spokesperson.

The Government of Kosovo has presented plans for the opening of the Ibri Bridge, which remains closed to traffic. The Ministry of Infrastructure is already waiting for the report of the tests done last week regarding the stability of the bridge over the Iber.

Serbs in the north have also protested against the Government's plan.

International partners have criticized Kosovo, describing the plan as a "unilateral and uncoordinated action". Even KFOR has said that any decision on the opening of the bridge should be made in dialogue.
