Mustafi: It is worrying that Albania is sitting idly by the developments in the Valley

Ragmi Mustafi

The former chairman of the Albanian National Council in the Presheva Valley, Ragmi Mustafi, has said that it is disturbing that there has been no reaction from Albania regarding the protest held on Monday in Bujanoc.

Mustafi told KTV's "Interaktiv" that Albania's silence is disturbing.

"Albania cannot stand idly by the developments taking place in the Presheva Valley. We, as Albanians of the Valley, ask for greater support... At the end of the day, the Albanians of the Valley are in their rights, and because they are in their rights, they deserve support not only from the Republic of Kosovo, but also from the Republic of Albania, with all the state mechanisms at their disposal. We hope that the following days will provide the necessary support for the Albanians of the Valley", said Mustafi.

He said that to show that it cares about the Valley, Albania should open a consulate there.

Mustafi: There were reactions in Serbia after the protest in Bujanoc, they were told that it was designed by Kurti

The former chairman of the Albanian National Council in the Presheva Valley, Ragmi Mustafi, said that after the Albanian protest on Monday in Bujanoc, there were reactions in Serbia.

Mustafi said that there were those who said that "the protest was directed by Pristina and designed by Prime Minister Kurti".

"Today, after the protest, there were also reactions from the service director of the Coordinating Body for Bujanoc, Preshevo and Medvegja. They consider that this protest was directed by Pristina, designed by Prime Minister Kurti. They consider that the 20-year policy of the Albanians has caused damage in Bujanoc, Preshevo and Medvegja, because they did not know how to present their demands. There are assessments that Albanians are not discriminated against, they should cooperate, but these are pathetic euphemisms drawn by the exponents of Vucic's SNS, who are trying to give him a different narrative than what he had. The truth is that Albanians are living a bitter truth. In truth, they have been systematically discriminated, trampled and oppressed for decades", said Mustafi in "KTV's Interactive".

He said that the protest was based on the basic principles of the EU.

He said that all that is required is for Serbia to implement the three agreements that were signed with the legitimate Albanian representatives in the Valley.

Mustafi said that in Bujanoc there is no Albanian working in the cadastre, in the tax agency, in the fire department, or in the red cross.

"In many institutions there is a symbolic number included or there is none at all. This concern of ours is that in this form they are trying to oppress and increase the pressure for Albanians to migrate from their ethnic lands", said Mustafi.
