In the parliamentary Committee for Health, there were discussions between the position and the opposition, where the latter criticized the current government for the increase in poverty in Kosovo.

The member of the commission from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bekim Haxhiu, expressed his disappointment after the publication of the price list of medicines, because according to him, their increase in price is noticeable. Haxhiu emphasized that the increase in the price of medicines directly affects the increase in the poverty of the citizens.

Meanwhile, regarding this, the member of this commission from the Vetëvendosje Movement, Haxhi Avdyli, responded, to which he said that the current government in these three and a half years has shown that it is very interested in reducing poverty.

"As long as we monitor here, the law on social services...The other law, which we have voted as an Assembly, the law on regulating the prices of medicinal products, with which the purpose and aim everyone's goal was to reduce drug prices and unify drug prices at the level of the Republic of Kosovo, however, disappointed with what I saw after the publication of the drug price list, where the drugs which are currently in the retail market, in the price list they appear much more expensive than those in the retail market... The increase in the price of medicines directly affects the increase in the poverty of the citizens", said Haxhiu.

Avdyli emphasized that the government, with decisions and direct support, has influenced the elimination of forms of poverty.

"This government in these three and a half years has shown that it is very interested in reducing poverty, with direct decisions with direct support with maternity materials, with direct support for children, then with Superpuna, with support for young people, with products has had a direct impact on the elimination of forms of poverty, which is the first objective", said Avdyli.

Haxhiu said that the policy of this government is to impoverish the citizens by raising the price of electricity and products.

"The higher the price of electricity, Mr. Haxhi, the citizens over 100 percent, even if they gave citizens 1 time out of 100 euros, it is not a policy for sustainable development, but it is alms for the citizens. Because, according to what I see, the government's policy is to impoverish the citizens with the increase in the price of energy and products", said Avdyli.

Meanwhile, the expert, Fitim Mulolli, reported to the members of this commission, who emphasized that the Law on Social and Family Services occupies an important place for the realization of the objectives because, adding that the evaluation report fulfills about 11 targets.

He said that there are 169 targets to be met in all areas, while adding that the goal is to gradually meet as many of these targets as possible by 2030.

"So, there are 169 targets for all fields, and all fields and all aspects that must be covered by the institutions of every state, in this case also of the Republic of Kosovo. This law quite successfully (fulfilled) about 11 of them plus about 3 targets in the field of education, although it is not a priority area to cover, it still affects them. The goal is to gradually fulfill as many of these objectives as possible by 2030," said Mulolli./ KosovaPress
