The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has said that the perpetrators of the violent protests of May 29 must be held accountable.

A year after the protests against the installation of the mayor of Zveçan in the office, Osmani said that Serbian organized crime groups carried out attacks on KFOR policemen and soldiers through political orders from the regime of the Serbian president, Aleksandër Vučić.

"The perpetrators, who still roam free in Serbia and are protected by the Vučić regime, must be held accountable. Failure to sign has only encouraged them to repeat the attacks, as clearly shown by the act of aggression on September 24 from Serbia", she wrote in X.

Osmani added that the attackers and those who gave orders are clearly known.

"Impunity must end! We all owe it to the young soldiers who lost their limbs and whose lives were changed forever, because they put their lives on the line for the peace and security of all citizens," he wrote further.

With the violent protests in Zveçan, the placement of the mayor of the municipality, Ilir Peci, in the municipal building was opposed. In addition to Zveçan, there were also protests in Leposavic and Zubin-Potok.
