Dismissal of the presidents

The CEC is unable to organize the April 21 vote in school facilities

The CEC will need another alternative to organize the vote for the dismissal of the mayors in the four municipalities in the north of the country. This institution has received information that the use of school facilities in the north, which operate within parallel structures, will not be allowed

Messages have gone to the Central Election Commission that school facilities in the municipalities in the north will not be available on April 21, when the vote for the dismissal of the mayors will be held.

Sources within the CEC said that there is pressure to change the decision to use these facilities as voting centers.

KOHA has learned that regarding the possibility of using schools as voting centers on April 21, the CEC has written to the mayors of four municipalities in the north of Kosovo and the Ministry of Education.

School facilities in the four municipalities of Kosovo are not managed by state institutions, as they operate under the directives of illegal structures.

Contacted by KOHA on this issue, the mayor of Zubin-Potoku Municipality, Izmir Zeqiri, said that since the beginning the public facilities are at the disposal of the CEC. After that, he mentioned the permission given to the CEC for the use of one of the halls of the alternative office of the Municipality of Zubin-Potoku.

KOHA tried to get confirmation from the mayors of three other municipalities in the north, but they were unreachable until the publication of the article.

And, the municipal election commissions have finally been left without members of the Serbian List, after their resignation at the beginning of this week.

KOHA has learned that the Serbian List has not used the opportunity given by the CEC to replace the resigned members until Thursday at 16:00.

The resignations of the members of the Serbian List from the MECs came after warnings to boycott the voting process that will be held on April 21.

The chairman of the OSCE, Ian Borg, called to use their right to vote in this process on Thursday.
