A new Turkish contingent of KFOR arrives in Kosovo

The NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, announced that a Turkish contingent arrived on Wednesday.

The KFOR communique states that this contingent will replace a unit of Italian troops previously deployed as part of the Reserve Forces assigned to KFOR.

"The deployment of the Turkish contingent reflects KFOR's unwavering commitment to continue providing a secure environment for the benefit of all communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially, in accordance with its UN mandate based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999. It is also another concrete demonstration of NATO's continued commitment to sustainable security in Kosovo and stability throughout the Western Balkans ", the announcement states.
