Kurti: We supported the salary increase for private sector workers

Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that the Government has taken steps that directly affect the lives of workers and that promote employment, with special emphasis on the employment of women and young people.

He wrote on Facebook on Monday that around 5 thousand women have been employed, and through the "Superpuna" platform, employment has been supported.

Kurti said that the wages of the public sector have increased and through the packages undertaken, the wage increase for 17 thousand workers of the private sector has been supported.

"Also, we have increased salaries in the public sector and through packages undertaken by the Government we have supported salary increases for 17 workers in the private sector. Employment has been one of our main priorities, and along with it, rights at work are also essential. In this regard, last year, 6316 inspections were carried out in businesses with the aim of monitoring compliance with the Labor Law and other laws in force. Only in the first quarter of this year, 153 fines were imposed for non-compliance with these laws", wrote the Prime Minister.

The head of the government cabinet said that Kosovo has suffered from unemployment and violations of rights at work, while adding that work is being done to expand employment and eliminate violations of rights at work.
