The Market Inspectorate inspected bakeries on Tuesday, with the aim of verifying the prices of this essential food product.

While verifying the prices, declaration, and weight of bread, it was announced that the price of bread had increased from 50 to 60 cents.

"Market inspectors have requested the necessary documentation to assess whether the increase is a consequence of the increase in prices of other products such as flour, oil, etc., is an artificial or unjustified increase. After the assessment, measures will be taken in accordance with the legislation in force," the announcement issued by the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade states.

Inspections were also carried out on Tuesday at 22 gas stations, three of which were found to be non-compliant with price setting and punitive measures will be taken against them in accordance with the law.

MINT has warned that inspections will continue every day throughout the country, while punitive measures will be taken in each place where violations are found.
