November 28 not only marks the Flag Day holiday. Every time this month comes, Kosovo remembers the first appearance of the Kosovo Liberation Army, on November 28, 1997, in the village of Llaushë in Skenderaj.
What caused the KLA to publicize its activities was the murder of the Llausha school teacher, Halit Geci.
Rexhep Selimi, Daut Haradinaj and Mujë Krasniqi were the first to appear publicly for the first time as KLA soldiers at Geci's funeral.
The KLA statement for its first public appearance was prepared by its own soldiers.
