Thaçi is accused of blocking the return of ambassadors for political purposes

For more than three months, he has kept the decisions for the return of 7 political ambassadors in the office, but the president Hashim Thaçi has not yet decreed their return to Kosovo.

When asked about the reasons for this delay, he answered briefly that the Legal Office of the Presidency is dealing with this, KOHA reports.

Kreshnik Ahmeti, chief of staff of former Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca, says that the president is blocking this process for his own interests.

The removal of 7 ambassadors from diplomatic missions, according to him, was done after their 4-year mandate ended.

The Institute of Prishtina for Political Studies accuses the president of using the non-return of political ambassadors with completed mandates for political purposes.

The MFA had given them until August 31 to return the heads of diplomatic missions in Kosovo.

On March 3, the Foreign Ministry has proposed to leave the diplomatic missions the political ambassadors whose 4-year mandate has ended, among them the ambassador of Kosovo to the USA, Vlora Çitaku.
